The Lane Tech Symphonic Band
This ensemble is for the most advanced musicians and is by audition only. In order to keep this "Honors" ensemble balanced, the
number of musicians is held at about 45 and new members may try out for openings as they become available. This ensemble goes
on Band Trips each year and participates in city and state contests. Cost of trips and outfits are offset with fund raising. Students
in this ensemble receive full Honors Credit. Being an Honors Ensemble, musicians for our "Pit Band" for Lane's Musical are usually
pulled from here. If you are entering Lane as a freshman and already play an instrument and would like to try out for our
Symphonic Band, please contact Mr. O'Brien from our contact page.
