The Lane Tech Marching Band
Where Tradition Marches On ...
Days                            Gone                                 By
The Lane Tech Marching Band
The Marching Band has been a tradition at Lane Tech for decades. Whether they were performing for Bozo the Clown,
Marching the downtown streets of Chicago or dressing up like the Blues Brothers for "Soul Man", Lane's Marching
Band has seen it all.
Our Marching Band is comprised of all our band members except beginners. This includes all Symphonic, Concert and
Jazz Band members. Although marching & pep band music is given out in May, a one week Marching Band Camp is
held in August to pull our entire show together before the start of school.
Marching Band performs their routines at football games and special events when requested. The Marching Band
perform
s at various parades each year including the "Roscoe Village Parade" and also as a pep band at both select
football and basketball games.
Remember, when you are part of Lane's Band Program, you are part of a 100 year tradition!!!!
Marching Band Camp 2008
All Symphonic, Concert & Jazz Band Students must attend a mandatory 1 week Marching Band Camp at
Lane usually held in August to prepare for the upcoming marching season. Music and Drill Charts are
passed out prior to the summer to give students a chance to learn the music and the formations.
Below are a few memories of Marching Band Camp 2008

Students begin to arrive and re-connect with old friends
After all the "hello's" its time to go over expectations for the year, get instruments out and let the hard work
begin
Once the music is rehearsed, it is out to the practice field for marching fundamentals and sectionals
(and oh yeah...SWEAT)
After working on the basics and fundamentals
on our practice field, we begin to learn the new
drill charts for the season. Once the general
idea is down, we move it to the stadium where
the march will be performed in October.
We finished up the last day of
marching band camp in Lane's
Stadium with temps in the mid
90's and played our last note
just before the rain hit ... it was a
great week!
