| Lane Tech Beginning Band The Lane Tech Beginning Band is for the young student with no (or very little) musical experience. In this class students will learn the basics of the instruments, learn how to read music and perform in concerts. Towards the end of the year students will begin to learn basic marching band fundamentals as they will be a part of our marching band the following year. Students (in most cases) can choose the instrument they want to learn providing we have enough and there are not already too many of that particular instrument in band. Instruments may be rented from Lane for a yearly cost of $50.00 While you may rent instruments outside of Lane, the cost will be much more expensive.
