| While watching these clips, please take note of several things. Notice that each performances is about 10-15 minutes in length (not these short clips) and that ALL the music is memorized, there are no flip books. Also note the "heel toe" marching technique they all use. Their rehearsals begin in April and last about 6-8 hours a day. When competition gets closer, 5-6 days a week 8-12 hours a day goes into rehearsals. Also note the complexity of many of the formations. MOST IMPORTANTLY ... notice how they carry themselves with a very high level of pride and confidence. They perform as one single unit, a family, a team and this is what we at Lane will strive to do with all our groups ... PS, The Cavaliers took 1st place!!!! |
